Gilbert Gutierrez, an avid runner and resident at Sierra Valley Rehab Center, was able to once again experience the thrill of the race at age 59 thanks to the New Chapters Program. Gilbert got back on the track at the Annual Toys for Tots Jingle Bell Run accompanied by members of the facility staff and Consonus therapy team.
“My favorite part of the day was when I lined up at the starting line, and they started the countdown for the race to begin. When I heard the starting pistol fire, it felt so good to be back out there!” Gilbert reminisced. “I consider it an honor to be chosen for this experience, and I hope it inspires others to get involved.”
